With the collaborative effort to attain food security, the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (DA-PHilMech), represented by Director Dionisio G. Alvindia, with the NIA Administrator, Engr. Eduardo “Eddie” G. Guillen, Honorable Mayor of Piddig, Ilocos Norte, Georgina S. Guillen and Senator Cynthia A. Villar’s representative, Ms. Ruby Ann Matutino-Pungtilan, Regional Focal of the Villar SIPAG foundation spearheaded the ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing at Piddig Farmers Trading Center.
The Piddig-Basi Multipurpose Cooperative (PBMPC) will receive 62 million worth of facilities, which includes two units of 12-toner mechanical dryers and a two to three-toner state-of-the-art rice mill.
The RCEF-RPS project supports the Masagana Rice Industry Development Program of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., which aims agricultural boost in increasing rice productivity and farmer’s income.
“Gagawin namin ang aming makakaya para sa mas madaling pagsasaka” said, Director Alvindia as he appreciates the efforts of the farmers in contributing agricultural development to feed the whole nation.
Also present to witness the ceremonial signing is the representative of Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, Engr. Orlan C. Binala, agriculturist II, Mr. Ricardo Collado, Provincial Rice Banner Coordinator, Mr. Harvey D. Adap, Municipal Agriculturist, Mr. Felixberto V. Cid, jr., Chairperson of Piddig Basi Multipurpose Cooperative, INIMO Acting Division Manager, Engr. Joselito C. De Vera, Board of Directors of the PBMP and LGU staff of Piddig.
