NIA RO 1 adopting |The Great Filipino Workout" Project under MC No. 8, series of 2011, issued by the Civil Service Commission.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued MC No. 8, series of 2011 which reiterated the Commission’s directive to all government agencies to adopt a health and fitness management program for all its employees dubbed as “The Great Filipino Workout.”
The program is designed to give importance to a healthy lifestyle and development of an alert workforce in government agencies. This is also an integral part of the National Physical Fitness and Sports Development Program for government personnel.
In line with this directive, NIA Region 1 encouraged employees in the regional office compound to join the “ZUMBA” in the lobby area every Friday at 3:00 in the afternoon as part of the agency’s continuing physical fitness activity to develop a healthy workforce.
Zumba involves dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic music. This is an exercise fitness program created by a Colombian dancer and choreographer during the 1990s.
Zumba can help lower the risk of heart disease, reduce blood pressure and bad cholesterol, and boost good cholesterol. Indeed, health and wellness really go together.
