The declaration of March as Fire Prevention Month prompted the Quality Workplace Team (QWT) of the agency to conduct a webinar entitled Fire Safety and Basic Life Support at the Regional Training Center here.
The yearly activity which was attended on-line by NIA employees from the Regional Office and Pangasinan Irrigation Management Office (PIMO) was handled by SFO2 Amante Clemente P. Battalao, Operations Chief of BFP Urdaneta Station. In his message, QWT chairman Susimo G. Domingo averred that March is indeed the most alarming month of the year where most fire incidents are reported. "It is important that our employees will be made fully aware of basic fire prevention methods to save lives and properties", Domingo added.
The traditional fire drill and evacuation rehearsal which is an essential part of the activity was shelved in adherence to government protocols amid the pandemic.
